Sligo North-Leitrim Fine Gael Deputy John Perry has obtained a new report report which has revealed that Sligo General Hospital is being targeted for further budgetary cutbacks.

Speaking in the Adjournment Debate in the Dail on Wednesday 22nd November John Perry T.D. called on the Minister now take up the issue of cross-border cooperation in the provision of the full range of cancer care services covering all the Midland and Border Counties, and in particular to fully explore the provision of specialist cancer care services from Sligo Hospital to patients from Fermanagh.

Speaking during the Adjournment Debate on Wednesday 26th September, 2007 John Perry addressed the issues of cutbacks at Sligo Hospital, and poor progress on the rollout of BreastCheck and radiotherapy services.

“In Government, Fine Gael is committed to delivering an additional 2,300 hospital beds, which will address overcrowding in our A&Es and ensure that people receive operations in a timely manner, rather than having appointments cancelled”, said Fine Gael Sligo/North Leitrim General Election Candidate, and outgoing TD John Perry.
