Sligo Matters - Dr. John Perry website
Fine Gael

Welcome

It has been an honour to serve as a Teachta Dála for the people of Sligo/North Leitrim since 1997. Ireland has experienced unprecedented changes over the last 20-25 years with the rise and fall of the property based economic boom. Now we are living through some of the most economically challenging times since the foundation of the State, and it is our job now in Government to try to regain our financial sovereignty, so that, as the Taoiseach has put it,  Ireland by 2016 can become the best Small Country in the world in which to live and do business; something that I both as Minister for Small Business, and as a TD for the people of Sligo/North-Leitrim am determined to see happen. Some of the decisions we make as a Government in striving to achieve this will inevitably be unpalatable, but unless we make the tough decisions now, our future generations will have no prospect of growing up in a country that can stand on its own two feet, or can provide them with an education, and ultimately provide them with a place, where they in turn can live, work and raise their own families in. As a Government, this remains our objective and our motivation in every decision that is made.  Through this website you can keep up to date with my latest press releases, videos, Dáil speeches and photos. Also, you can feel free to contact me directly if there is any issue you want to bring to my attention, or if I can assist you in any way.
